Make the page title say what you do and where
The title tag is the first thing Google reads and the blue link people see.

⚙ Page settings
Step 1. In your site builder, open the Home page's settings and find the SEO panel (every builder has one — Pages → Home → ⚙ → SEO).
WordPress
- Log in to WordPress → Pages → Home → Edit.
- Scroll to the SEO box below the editor (Yoast SEO, Rank Math or All in One SEO — one of them is almost always installed). Set “SEO title” to the text Cairn suggests, and “Meta description” to one or two plain sentences.
- No SEO plugin? Settings → General → “Site Title” and “Tagline” feed the title tag on most themes.
- Update, then open your site in a private window and check the browser tab shows the new title.
Wix
- Open the Wix editor → Pages & Menu → Home → ⋯ → SEO basics.
- Set the title tag and the meta description; Wix shows a live Google preview.
- Publish. Changes are live in minutes; Google re-reads the page within days.
Squarespace
- Squarespace → Pages → hover Home → ⚙ (page settings) → SEO tab.
- Fill “SEO title” and “SEO description”. The page’s H1 is the first heading block on the page — edit it in the page itself.
- Save and publish.
Shopify
- Shopify admin → Online Store → Preferences.
- Set “Homepage title” and “Homepage meta description”.
- Save. The H1 comes from your theme’s hero section — edit it under Themes → Customize.
GoDaddy Website Builder
- GoDaddy → Website Builder → Edit site → Pages → Home → ⚙ Settings → SEO.
- Set the page title and description, publish.
Webflow
- Webflow Designer → Pages → Home → ⚙ → SEO settings.
- Set the title and meta description, publish.
Any other site
- The title tag is the text in the browser tab; whoever built your site can change it in a minute. Send them the exact text below and ask them to set the home page <title>, the meta description, and the main headline (H1).
- If you built it yourself on a builder, look for “SEO settings” on the home page.
Cairn finds which of these apply to your listing and site, gives you the exact text to paste, and checks weekly whether it landed. Run the free scan → · All how-tos
